Top Games Releasing this February That We Are Excited About
2023 was indubitably the best year for gaming after 1998 and 2007 of course, but we have yet to see if 2024 can live up to the expectations. After a whole year of enjoying genre-defining, record-breaking classics, we are ready for another monumental year of gaming. If you plan your gaming sessions ahead of time like me, here are the most anticipated games of Februrary that gamers over the world are jazzed about, along with their currently-confirmed release dates! Who knows, one of these games could be topping year-end lists 12 months from now. Fingers crossed!
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
The world needs saving once again, but this time from the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League. Set in an expansive and dynamic open-world Metropolis, the game bands together the DC super-villains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark as part of Amanda Waller’s infamous Suicide Squad, tasked with an insurmountable mission: eradicate the justice league and save Earth. The third-person action shooter lets you switch between characters if you are playing solo, or team up with up to three friends for an ultimate gaming experience. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release on February 2nd, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
The second installment in Square Enix’s remake trilogy is already looking to make a splash with a reinvented gameplay, free-world exploration, cinematic storytelling, and fast-paced combat. Join the spiky-haired dream boy Cloud and his comrades, the iconic heroes Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII, as they venture across the planet of Gaia to find his archnemesis, Sephiroth, before he destroys the world. The action role-playing game promises to take you deeper into the world of Final Fantasy with a wide array of side content and mini games, and lets you enjoy strategic thinking with thrilling action combat alongside your comrades. The creators have kept the narrative fresh so you can enjoy the game even if you are not familiar with the Final Fantasy franchise. The Game is expected to release on February 29th and from the looks of it – it is going to be legendary!
Skull and Bones
Want to play by your own rules and rise up to become the most fearsome pirate kingpin? In the world of Skull and Bones you start out as a shipwrecked captain, but can you craft your own ‘rags to riches’ story and steer your 17th-century ship towards ultimate fame? Learn directly from the underdogs, grow your infamy, collect contracts, engage in thrilling naval battles, plunder or pillage settlemens, and customize your weaponry, armor, and furniture to gain an advantage. From the early videos, we are noticing a lot of notable open-sea gameplay mechanics, immersion-ratcheting presentation and cinematic, hull-shattering combat in this pirate extravaganza. The co-op pirate open world action-RPG experience will be available on Ubisoft connect, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, Xbox series X|S, on the 16th of February. Happy pirating!
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
The rivalry that started in the ’80s arcades when the big ape kidnapped Mario’s Lady, is now rekindled in the upcoming puzzle-platform game! Once again, Donkey Kong is up to no good. He has stolen all the Mini-Mario toys from the factory, and Mario has to run, jump, and backflip his way through obstacles and hurdles to rescuing them. A refreshing take on the Game Boy Classic with enhanced visual presentation and clever puzzle-platforming gameplay of the beloved original, Mario vs. Donkey Kong is now releasing for the Nintendo Switch on Feb, 16th.
